
To ensure the effectiveness of the safety program,
Total Turf Golf Services has made provisions for the establishment of a Safety Committee. Working closely with our insurance carrier, Total Turf is committed to safety. The function of this Committee is as follows:
- See that the safety policy is adhered to.
- Act as a liaison between management and operating personnel.
- Conduct timely safety inspections.
- Investigate and review all accidents.
- Suggest safety topics for the tailgate meetings.
- Hold monthly meetings to administer the program and make improvements.
All employees are required to attend safety meetings and input their ideas and suggestions.

- Report on safety inspections.
- Review tailgate meetings.
- Review suggestions.
- Make recommendations for improvements.
- List new topics for tailgate meetings.
- Plan future activities.
The overall goals of the Safety Committee are as follows:
- Increase company-wide safety awareness.
- Reduce accidents.
- Increase employee morale.
- Improve health of employees.
- Lower insurance mod rating.
- Improve health of company.
Currently, Total Turf’s insurance mod rating is below industry average. With the establishment of the Safety Committee, our goal is to continue to improve (lower) this rating on a yearly basis. Safety is a “behind the scenes” activity that benefits our clients’ directly.
This culture flows throughout the organization and limits on-site liability to our clients. Ultimately, by being safe, our premiums are lower thus allowing Total Turf to provide more competitive pricing.
